In his latest Whiteboard Friday video cast, SEOmoz CEO and co-founder Rand Fishkin weighed up the advantages of companies outsourcing their content requirements.

It’s no secret that “content is king”. It’s an internet term that dates back to Roman times, and it’s a saying that’s been proven time and again for centuries.

But not just any old content, oh no. If you’re going to to persuade visitors to stay on your pages and convince them to come back, your content needs to be relevant, well-written, interesting and scribed with some degree of authority.

It’s no good simply posting any old rubbish. It has to be worth reading otherwise your site’s stickiness and its associated search benefits could be compromised.

So, what are the benefits of outsourcing your content requirements? And before you say anything, we didn’t pay Rand to create this latest video cast, he genuinely believes that outsourcing content can be very effective.

Rand broke it down into four steps; requirements gathering, locating potential resources, research writing quality and voice match, then scale, evaluate and track.

Check out his video and see what you think for yourself… http://www.seomoz.org/blog/whiteboard-friday-outsourcing-content-creation
